Resident James Berlin recalled how much easier finding food was when he growing up. He would go out on the tundra with other kids, finding eggs and berries, and they barely left the dock before finding fish. Now much of the land is barren mud that’s not safe to walk on anymore. There’s fishing restrictions, and safety concerns. His family still hunt and fish and live off the land, but it’s harder now.
